Environmental Stewardship & Compliance Policy
Purpose and Commitment
Kora Power (“Kora” or the “Company”) is committed to conducting its operations in a manner that complies with applicable environmental laws and reflects responsible environmental stewardship. The Company recognizes that sound environmental management supports regulatory integrity, operational resilience, and long-term enterprise value.
This Environmental Stewardship and Compliance Policy (the “Policy”) establishes the framework through which Kora identifies, evaluates, and manages the environmental aspects of its operations. It applies to all officers, employees, contractors, and agents acting on behalf of the Company. Where appropriate, environmental compliance obligations may be incorporated into agreements with suppliers, installers, and strategic partners.
Kora’s activities include energy-related product development, commercial operations, installation coordination, and related services. Although the Company does not operate heavy industrial manufacturing facilities, it acknowledges that its operations involve environmental considerations associated with energy use, greenhouse gas emissions, transportation, electronic components, battery systems, packaging materials, and waste streams.
Regulatory Compliance
Kora shall comply with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental statutes, regulations, ordinances, and legally binding standards. These may include, as applicable, the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Toxic Substances Control Act, Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), and corresponding state and local laws.
The Company shall obtain and maintain required permits, registrations, and approvals necessary for its operations. Kora will monitor relevant legal developments and implement operational adjustments as necessary to maintain compliance.
Nothing in this Policy creates obligations beyond those required by applicable law or binding contractual commitments.
Environmental Management Principles
Kora integrates environmental considerations into operational and strategic decision-making in a manner proportionate to the nature and scale of its business. In furtherance of this commitment, the Company shall:
• Seek to prevent pollution and minimize adverse environmental impacts to the extent reasonably practicable.
• Promote efficient use of energy, water, and materials in Company-controlled facilities and field activities.
• Manage solid waste, electronic waste, batteries, and regulated materials under its control in accordance with applicable law.
• Evaluate commercially feasible opportunities to reduce the carbon intensity of operations through energy efficiency and responsible resource management.
• Implement appropriate safeguards to prevent unauthorized releases of hazardous substances.
• Consider environmental compliance and responsible practices as factors in supplier and contractor engagement, where commercially reasonable.
Any quantitative environmental targets or public sustainability commitments shall require formal approval by executive management.
Operational Standards
Kora shall maintain operational controls designed to mitigate environmental risk and ensure compliance.
Energy consumption within Company-controlled facilities shall be managed with an emphasis on efficiency and conservation. The Company may conduct periodic assessments of its greenhouse gas profile to better understand operational impacts and identify improvement opportunities.
Waste generated within Company-controlled premises shall be properly segregated, stored, transported, and disposed of in accordance with applicable municipal, state, and federal requirements. Electronic components and battery systems shall be directed to authorized recycling or disposal channels where required by law.
Hazardous substances, if present within Company operations, shall be stored, labeled, handled, transported, and disposed of in compliance with applicable regulatory standards. Required documentation, including Safety Data Sheets where applicable, shall be maintained.
The Company shall not knowingly discharge pollutants into stormwater systems, surface waters, or sanitary systems except as permitted by applicable law.
With respect to installation coordination and field activities, Kora shall require contractors to comply with applicable environmental laws. Environmental obligations related to site ownership shall remain with the property owner unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Where technically and commercially feasible, Kora may incorporate product lifecycle considerations, including durability, energy efficiency, and end-of-life recyclability, into product development processes.
Governance and Accountability
Executive management is responsible for approving this Policy and ensuring that sufficient resources are allocated to maintain environmental compliance and oversight.
The Company shall designate a responsible individual or function to oversee environmental compliance. Responsibilities shall include monitoring regulatory obligations, maintaining relevant records, coordinating appropriate training, and serving as a point of contact for environmental matters.
All employees and contractors are required to comply with applicable environmental laws and Company procedures. Personnel must promptly report environmental incidents, spills, or compliance concerns through established reporting channels. Retaliation for good-faith reporting is prohibited. Non-compliance may result in disciplinary action or termination of contractual engagement, as appropriate.
Risk Assessment and Incident Response
Kora shall periodically evaluate the environmental aspects of its operations to identify material risks. Where risks are identified, reasonable and proportionate controls shall be implemented.
In the event of an environmental incident within the Company’s control, Kora shall take appropriate corrective measures, including containment, investigation, documentation, and regulatory notification where legally required. Records shall be retained in accordance with applicable law and Company policy.
Training and Awareness
The Company shall provide environmental training appropriate to job function and operational risk. Training may address regulatory compliance obligations, waste handling procedures, hazardous material management, and incident reporting protocols. The scope and frequency of training shall be commensurate with employee responsibilities.
Transparency and Review
Kora is committed to responsible and accurate communication regarding its environmental practices. Any public disclosures concerning environmental performance or sustainability initiatives shall be supported by substantiated information and reviewed for legal compliance prior to publication.
This Policy shall be reviewed at least annually and updated as necessary to reflect changes in law, operations, or industry standards. Amendments require executive management approval.
Effective Date
This Environmental Stewardship and Compliance Policy is effective upon approval by executive management of Kora Power and supersedes any prior environmental policy statements.
